Yes I know it’s only 5 weeks away and that the UK has been on Christmas countdown since August but here in Spain, nothing really happens until mid November at the earliest..
This year Estepona is way ahead of Sabinillas in the Christmas preparations. All along the seafront in Estepona, the lights are up (OK, not switched on yet but they are up…) and in Carrefour, there is a huge Christmas tree in the car park and decorations throughout the store.
All that has appeared in Sabinillas is the “Feliz Navidad” sign across the top of the main street and in Manilva – nothing. Granted, when I went to Mercadona this morning, all the Christmas decs were up but thankfully, they haven’t started playing Christmas music yet!!
Come on Manilva – gets the lights up…it’s December next week!!
