Manilva’a music school triples its number of pupils

The ever popular music school in Manilva continues to go from strength to strength. The music school, situated above the police station, at the entrance to Manilva opened in 2005 and is now in it’s 10th year.

The school not only provides lessons for all ages in all types of instrument, but also provides a great cultural link within the community with the various performances and concerts that are put on throughout each year.

At it’s start, there were 120 pupils split into 2 groups. This year’s course started last week with 425 pupils registered…. 223 specialising in a musical instrument (guitar, piano, violin, flute, drums and much more) and the remaining 202 pupils that from part of the various bands, choirs and musical groups that the school has set up. These include the Manilva town band, the Sabinillas and Manilva choirs and the “Charanga” band (a Cuban style band)
