Trip to Cadiz Carnival

The Annual 10 day Carnival in Cadiz is the biggest carnival in mainland Spain. The people of Cadiz prepare all year for this non stop party – it dates from the 16th century and is said to be the only carnival that Franco couldn’t ban! There are a multitude of processions, concerts, comedians, puppet shows and fireworks to enjoy as well as plenty of eating, drinking and making merry!

One of the best known events is the street parade when the colours and the complicity of the costumes have to be seen to be believed. Manilva’s cultural department have organised a trip to see on such parade as well as the chance to explore Cadiz for the day. The trip takes place on Sunday 2nd March. The bus will leave Manilva at 8am and then pick up from Sabinillas and Castillo. The price is €11 per person which includes return coach travel. Return time is approx 10pm after the parade as finished (definitely approx then!!)
