Raft Race in Duquesa

Following the amazing success of last years raft race, Manilva’s Foreign Residents Department and the Leisure Lounge Bar have organised the second annual Raft Race in Duquesa to take place this Saturday 24th August.

The 11 rafts entered this year are  from various bars in Duquesa and Sabinillas and are all “home made”. The rules are that there can be no more than 6 crew members and the only way to move the raft is by paddles – over than that anything goes…

The race starts at the end of the jetty of Don Marino, parallel to the gas station in Duquesa Port marina, from 11.30 but get there earlier to soak up the atmosphere. One of the funniest bits is actually watching the rafts being launched before the race has even started!!!

It’s a really fun way to spend a Saturday morning – support your favourite bar or just come for the laughs – you can guarantee that at least one raft will sink!!!

The prize giving will take place later in the evening at the Leisure Lounge Bar from 9pm where there will also be a live concert with an Adele Tribute act.
