Welcome to Hamilton Homes Real Estate Agency. We are based in Sabinillas, a little seaside town in the heart of Manilva on the Costa del Sol. We specialise in properties within this zone and some of the key areas we work in include costal areas such as La Duquesa, Sabinillas, Sotogrande, Alcaidesa and Estepona and inland country properties in Jimena, Casares, Manilva Village and Gaucin.

Our belief system is based around Clarity, Honesty and Simplicity. As part of our service we aid clients not only to buy their dream property but also to do so, knowing exactly what kind of costs the process will incur, which properties are best value at the given time and to understand the legalities prior to signing on the dotted line. The Spanish buying system is quite different from the process in the UK. We hope to bring you a glimpse of buying and living in Spain through this website – moving to Spain is not just about the right property but about adapting to the culture and lifestyle.

My wife and I set up Hamilton Homes in 2003. Prior to this we both had a career in banking. I spent some time in Citibank, Royal Bank of Scotland and my final 6 years in banking as a private banker in Credit Agricole Indosuez. Whilst I loved my role in banking, I have always had a passion for property. My banking days enabled me to understand more about property financing. On purchasing my own home in Spain, I realised that many agents did not have a financial background and we ourselves struggled to get a clear account of costs and organise a mortgage. This convinced me that there was a need for a Real Estate Agent with some kind of financial background.

At the end of 2002 an opportunity arose and my wife and I decided to use this to build up our own real estate business and I was able to combine my love for property with sound financial backing. I wanted clients to be able to come in and see the full picture – from budgeting to finding a new property and purchasing a dream home. Careful planning and budgeting helps to avoid any problems down the line – it is easy to get carried away and then be burdened with unwanted and unexpected costs.

Why Sabinillas?

I am often asked why I chose this fishing village as my base. Well to be honest there are a number of reasons for this decision. Firstly, as a young boy, my parents had an apartment here and we spent a fair amount of our holidays here so this is an area that I know well and that holds special memories for me. Strategically, it is in a perfect position – only 20 minutes from Gibraltar and an hour away from Malaga airport. Finally, the coastline is beautiful with its unspoilt blue flag beaches. Personally I also love the ‘campo’ – just a few minutes inland and you can enjoy the fresh mountain air and have lunch in a typical Spanish ‘venta’ in a white-washed village. Basically everything I love about Spain is captured in this area.
